Rising Stars — shares, prices, market cap

Share count (source hierarchy)

1) SEC dei:EntityCommonStockSharesOutstanding → 2) us-gaap:CommonStockSharesOutstanding → 3) a marked provider fallback (Yahoo) only when SEC has no usable total. Weighted-average shares are never used as a total. No manual scale corrections; no fabricated values.

Market cap

latest close × valid total shares. When no trustworthy total exists, market cap is null (never invented). Where a SEC count is a single share class, the provider total is used and the SEC value is retained in provenance.

12-month return & price confirmation

Adjusted close on both ends (split/dividend-safe); the comparison uses the closed session nearest 365 days back. Confirmed = passed the growth screen AND 12-month return > 0. Confirmation is not a buy signal — it is the link between fundamental growth and price behaviour.

Fundamentals (TTM)

SEC XBRL revenue/income, multi-tag fallbacks (us-gaap + ifrs-full), latest-filed value per period (restatement-aware), Q4 derived as annual − 9-month cumulative. TTM = trailing four quarters. Missing → null + a precise flag.

Validation & public eligibility

Each record has an internal validation status (Verified / Review / Excluded) and a separate public eligibility: Eligible, Eligible with fallback (a validated provider value was used), or hidden. The public page shows only eligible records and never displays internal status labels. Records with unresolved core-field problems (missing/implausible market cap, unreliable revenue, currency/unit conflicts) are withheld from the public view.

Earnings season score

A single season-score source of truth. When coverage is insufficient (few companies reported), the score is shown as in progress (a coverage progress bar), not a quality score, and the previous completed season is shown separately.
